Hi there! I’m Rosie, a passionate Behaviour Support Consultant with over fifteen years of experience helping young people thrive.

I firmly believe that all behaviour is communication, and challenging behaviour often reflects unmet needs or skills yet to be developed. Young people do well if they can and when they struggle, it’s my job to help them and those around them build the skills they need to grow.

Impact

I’m here to make a difference, one young person at a time

My career has taken me through diverse settings, including out-of-home care, a children’s hospital, and the homelessness sector. Today, I’m proud to run my own business specialising in behaviour support for children and young people, particularly those in out-of-home care with a history of trauma and disability related needs.

Before I began this work, I was a young person myself who experienced significant trauma and loss, and also presented with challenging behaviour. That lived experience has shaped who I am today and given me a unique perspective, allowing me to truly understand and connect with those I support on a deeper level.

How I got here

My Framework of Support

My practice is trauma-informed and strengths-based, ensuring that every interaction is guided by empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the individual’s unique experiences and needs. I believe in fostering connection and empowerment, supporting children, young people, and their caregivers in a way that builds confidence and resilience.

Work History

Youth Work (Residential Care)

My journey began in residential care, working with children and young people in out-of-home care. This role ignited my passion for supporting those with complex needs and navigating systems that impact their well-being.

Autism Education (London, UK)

I then moved to London to work in a specialised school for Autistic children/children with Autism, further developing my expertise in disability-related needs and neurodiverse support strategies.

Play Therapy (Women’s & Children’s Hospital)

Returning to Australia, I worked as a Play Therapist at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, supporting young people during hospitalisation. In this role, I worked with both long-term and short-term patients, helping them process their experiences through therapeutic play. While working in this role, I also completed my Bachelor’s Degree, solidifying my academic knowledge alongside my practical experience.

Counselling (Reunification & Homelessness Program)

After completing my degree, I worked as a Counsellor in a reunification program, focusing on early intervention in the homelessness sector. Here, I helped young people reconnect with safe family members and access support networks to foster long-term stability.

Behaviour Support Consultant & Business Owner

I transitioned into Behaviour Support, integrating my diverse experiences across education, disability, play therapy, residential care, and homelessness services. Drawing on my broad skill set, I launched my own practice, ensuring my support is holistic, practical, and responsive to real-world challenges.
